From Expertise to a Vision for Smart Video Production

Our client already had initial ideas, concepts, and sketches for an app designed to enable companies to create professionally produced videos with minimal effort. As an expert in video editing—particularly for advertising and feature films—she understood the challenges companies face when producing high-quality video content.

Native Performance with Limited Resources

Developing a cross-platform app for iOS and Android that natively supports video editing was technically challenging. At the same time, we had to stay within a limited budget to make efficient use of available resources.

Efficient Cross-Platform Development

To overcome these challenges, we decided to use Flutter, a cross-platform app development technology. By using Flutter, we were able to cost-effectively develop an app with a single codebase that runs smoothly on both operating systems (iOS and Android). Instead of a traditional backend, we relied on Firebase and Firestore to make data management efficient and flexible.

Precise technology for a seamless user experience

Using Flutter, Firebase, and Firestore, we developed the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) on schedule and launched it in the app stores within a month. The app offers pre-designed templates that allow businesses to quickly create professional videos. Precise on-screen instructions guide users step-by-step through the recording process. The video is then edited automatically.

Firebase and Firestore enable our client to dynamically swap out content and tailor it to different customer groups. We also implemented analytics to collect key insights about app usage. This helps our client evaluate the business model and make data-driven decisions for future developments.

In addition, we integrated in-app purchases to gauge customers’ willingness to pay. High-quality video templates in particular can be offered for a fee, with prices configurable on a flexible basis. By analyzing usage and customers’ willingness to pay, valuable insights can be gained and the business model optimized.

The app is available on both the Play Store and the App Store.
